About Daniel Murphy Designs

Daniel Murphy Design is a construction company specializing in home construction, remodeling and additions, with an emphasis on professional craftsmanship.

Daniel's twenty-three year career as a carpenter began in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM where he framed houses and served as a lead carpenter for several years. He specialized in Southwestern beam work, a style unique to the region.

Shortly after Daniel arrived in Austin in 2001, he began working for a number of reputable home builders, establishing himself as a skillful and professional builder. The majority of projects he worked on focused primarily on remodeling as well as creating energy efficient spaces. While living in California from 2007 to 2011, Daniel had the opportunity to acquire a new skill set which included techniques that improve energy performance.

In addition to carpentry, Daniel spends his time designing and building furniture and creating archtop guitars.
